St. Melanie

St. Melanie was born in Placet Brittany.  He was a monk when called to succeed St. Amand in the see of Rennes.  He wiped out idolatry iin his diocese, helped draw up the canons of the Council of Orleans in 511 and was highly revered by King Clovis.  His feastday is January 6th.
