St. Adalbero

A bishop, Adalbero was a Benedictine who influenced his own era.  He started his career as a monk in Gorze and was appointed the bishop of Verdun, France, in 984.  He was transferred to Metz the same year, where he founded Cluniac monasteries.

His feast day is December 15th.
